Information you choose to provide
We may receive information that you voluntarily submit through a contact form or other communication channel, such as your name, email address, message, page URL and supporting details about a correction or technical issue.
Please do not send highly sensitive information, including Social Security numbers, government identification numbers, passwords, bank or card information, tax returns, complete credit reports, medical information or unredacted loan documents. We do not need those materials to answer editorial or calculator questions.
Calculator inputs
Our mortgage calculator is designed for anonymous educational planning. Its calculations run in the visitor’s browser using the values entered. The form does not request a name, email address, credit score, Social Security number or loan application.
Standard website infrastructure may still record that a calculator page was visited or interacted with. Avoid entering confidential personal information into any free-text field, URL or message on the site.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, service providers may automatically receive limited technical and usage information. Depending on our active configuration, this can include:
- IP address and approximate location derived from it;
- browser, device type, operating system and language;
- date, time, referring page and pages requested;
- interaction, performance, diagnostic and security events;
- cookie, local-storage or similar identifiers; and
- advertising or consent signals when advertising technology is enabled.
Web hosts and security services commonly retain server logs to deliver pages, prevent abuse, investigate failures and protect the site.

Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, including responding to messages, maintaining security records, meeting legal obligations and resolving disputes. Retention periods vary by data type and service provider. Aggregated or de-identified information may be retained longer when it no longer reasonably identifies an individual.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no website or transmission method is completely secure. Do not send confidential financial records through the contact form. If you believe information was submitted in error or a security issue exists, contact us promptly.
Your privacy choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion or a copy of certain personal information, and to object to or opt out of particular processing, targeted advertising, sale or sharing. Rights and exceptions vary by law.
To make a request, use the Contact page and write “Privacy request” in the subject. We may need to verify the request and may retain limited information to document our response. Authorized agents may be required to provide proof of authority.
Children’s privacy
The site is intended for adults researching home financing and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child provided information should contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

We may revise this policy as the site, vendors or legal requirements change. The date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes may also appear in a notice on the site.
